Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Student Finance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all areas of student funding and financial support. Key areas of focus will include, but not be limited to, supporting students in understanding and obtaining their educational funding, assisting with student budgeting/financial planning, and providing guidance on funding repayment. The incumbent will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with all areas of funding leglislation and obligations under the private occupational training act. This role is ideal for anyone who is driven by supporting students and advocating for student financial aid. The role of Student Finance Coordinator requires a strong understanding of student loan processes and other methods of student funding (Training, Skills and Development, private lenders, etc).

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

Have a college diploma in business, accounting or related-field, or equivalent experience/education

2-5 years accounting or financial advising experience ideally in a small to medium size business

Exceptional customer service skills

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop relationships quickly

Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail

Ability to follow and enhance work flows and processes

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Have the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook

Passion for student success, integrity, good judgement, trust and credibility is essential

Fluent French and English will be considered an asset
