DESCRIPTION

  • Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Pasteurizer is responsible for preparing mixes and the Critical Control Point (CCP) of converting Raw Milk/Raw Ingredients to Pasteurized product within a prescribed composition, quantity and schedule. This position encompasses activities including the receiving, inspection and confirmation of raw materials identification and condition, and all elements related to the sanitation and condition of the tools, equipment and environment involved in the process.

JOB DUTIES

  • The Pasteurizer must execute scheduled and non-scheduled inspection, sanitation, sanitary and soft maintenance exercises on the equipment, tools and working environment, both C.O.P. (manual cleaning); C.I.P. (Centralized Clean in Place Systems) functions, including, system titrations for performance validation.
  • Accountable for composition, product loss, process efficiency controls, and all related documentation.
  • Raw Materials inventory control including receiving, utilization tracking and reconciliation.
  • Mix Making, liquid and dry ingredient blending, physical handling of materials ~ 25 kgs.
  • Vigilant in practicing and guarding activities within the Raw Process Area to prevent biological, chemical or physical contamination of product.
  • Neat and accurate documentation for confirmation of functions, tracking records and reporting of deviations and related corrective actions and follow up.
  • Coordinate Waste and Recycling Activities including housekeeping and sanitation of equipment
  • Inter-departmental partnership and communications to promote efficient and effective execution of process.
  • Embrace and foster Environmental and Sustainability initiative
  • Embrace and foster attention to JSA (Job Safety Analysis), Risks, their mitigating procedures, Personal Protective Equipment and all other Personal Safety initiatives.
  • Must be prepared to function in a rotational shift schedule
  • Comply with GMP, HACCP & BRC standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task functional activities
  • Current knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to be trained on, multiple pieces of processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of all process piping and sanitation circuits, Legal Pasteurization confirmations.
  • Must perform accurate testing procedures and compilation of documentation as it pertains to a 100% commitment to the Plant HACCP Program.
  • Must obtain a legal Pasteurizing License for the Province of Manitoba.
  • Must maintain all recognized cleaning, good housekeeping and sanitation practices (compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • License to Operate Fork Lift / Pallet Moving Equipment
  • Good Physical condition, handling of 25 kg ingredient bags/piping interconnections
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Must have good communication, organizational skills and legible handwriting.
  • Must have an excellent attendance and safety record.
  • Must pass the Employee Aptitude and Basic Skills test
