Gardiner Centre (GC) is part of the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University. We offer non-credit business focused professional development. DUTIES
Reporting to the Director of Gardiner Centre, the successful applicant will work in a collaborative, team based environment and be responsible for developing, planning, and coordinating the marketing and promotion of Gardiner Centre’s professional development training, and other public engagement events, activities and initiatives. The Marketing Advisor holds responsibility for developing and maintaining the Gardiner Centre brand and ensuring alignment with the brand and mandate of Memorial University, the Faculty of Business Administration, and the Signal Hill Campus.
Duties include: overseeing, developing, and implementing a marketing and advertising strategy for Gardiner Centre that incorporates channels such as social media, community and industry associations, strategic partners, and the Gardiner Centre website with the goal of building awareness of and extending market reach for Gardiner Centre’s professional development programming. Managing and maintaining the Gardiner Centre website to ensure it remains current and relevant and meets all brand standards. Analyzing key metrics and traffic trends to help improve the usability, design, content, and conversion of the Gardiner Centre website. Initiating and managing website redesign projects in collaboration with internal and external IT support. Monitoring Google Analytics and Adwords, Facebook Ad Manager, Twitter Analytics, and LinkedIn Analytics for traffic, engagements, demographics, and website behavior. Creating promotional brochures, training schedules and promotional graphics for print and media using publishing tools. Creating and distributing regular newsletters using Mailchimp. Overseeing the social media strategy for the organization including paid media advertising and day-to-day social media communications. Researching emerging marketing tools and strategies to expand the reach and improve attendance at Gardiner Centre courses and programs. Video development and production in support of the Gardiner Centre marketing plan. Assisting in the organizing and attend promotional events and information sessions. Contributing to the development and execution of the Gardiner Centre strategic plan. Supporting the interviewing, hiring, and management of work term and MUCEP students, and performing other related duties as required.
Flexibility with regard to work hours, including occasional evening and weekend work, is required. This position will include opportunities for professional development at Gardiner Centre.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in a marketing and business communications role; completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Marketing and Communications; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. This role requires knowledge, skills, and experience in strategic marketing planning, execution, and measurement; digital communications and social media marketing execution; social media platforms and associated analytics tools; written and oral communications in support of client requests and inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge, skills, and abilities in graphic design and creative writing to design, execute and implement all Gardiner Centre promotional materials; and will demonstrate a strong understanding of project management principles to support the planning and executing of small and large scale projects including annual symposiums and conferences, information sessions, and other marketing events (in person and virtual). Proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Teams, Canva, Zoom, WebEx, Mailchimp, and Slack is considered an asset.
SALARY $49,602 - $74,399 per annum (Management and Professional)
