GROUNDS MAINTENANCE AND MOVING SUPERVISOR
Department of Facilities Management
(Permanent Position)

DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Services, this position will be required to supervise and coordinate the University’s grounds maintenance and moving efforts as well as oversee snow removal and ice control operations for multiple sites. Duties include coordinating, supervising and inspecting the activities of subordinates performing the grounds maintenance (indoor and outdoor landscaping, pest management, painting roadway markings, seasonal clean-up, etc.), moving, snow removal and ice control activities during regular and off-hours; maintaining a variety of records including computerized maintenance management records and equipment records; performing a variety of administrative tasks; liaising with the university community concerning requests for service; interfacing with and coordinating deliveries and services from vendors/contractors and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Thorough experience (5 plus years) performing varied grounds maintenance work, including supervisory experience (1-3 years); graduation from high school and completion of civil engineering, horticulture science, or landscaping certificate program; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience overseeing a snow removal and ice control operation will be considered an asset. Possession of a valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract, as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, is required.

SALARY
$49,602 – $74,399 per annum (Management and Professional)
