Services include employment counselling, computer workstations for client use in looking for work, labour market information, an up to date job board, needs assessments and referrals to a range of programs and services that assist individuals in becoming employed. Employers can count on us to advertise their positions, accept resumes on their behalf and the boardroom is open to them for info or recruitment sessions.

Job Description/Duties:

• Provide one-on-one career and employment counselling
• Assist and guide clients with job search strategies, interview preparation, resumes, cover letters, on-line job applications
• Carry out client assessments for financial programs for approval by Government
• Develop and maintain effective liaison with employers

Requirements/Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

• Career Counselling Diploma or Certificate, post-secondary education in Social Work, Human Resources, Psychology, Education or a combination of education and experience related to counselling will be considered
• Experience in case management including client needs assessment.
• Must possess a solid knowlegde of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)and be comfortable with various computer programs
• Strong interview, assessment, and communication skills
• Knowledge of the Yukon and Whitehorse labour market
• Knowledge of community resources/services
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
