Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Print & Postal division as a Digital Colour Print Operator at the Hilton Road Complex in Fredericton.

As a member of the printing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for all colour print jobs and the cheque printing process for GNB, the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital, and other government entities. The successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for colour print products and equipment
  • Plan and organize all colour print jobs, monitoring and reporting on the status of each job as assigned
  • Assist the Supervisor in maintaining print center inventory
  • Responsible for cheque printing, testing and related equipment and supplies
  • Develop and deliver on-the-job training and orientation when required
  • Assist with identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives to promote the efficiency of the Print Center
  • Lead customer relations with emphasis on customer satisfaction in a deadline-driven environment
  • Conduct mail mergers for clients and work with Postal Services to get the jobs delivered to the customer on time and on budget
  • All other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma supplemented by a one-year diploma in Print Design or a related area, and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience in printing and bindery. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a Production Print Facility using digital colour and B&W printers
  • Experience in Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) printing
  • Experience using Fiery and Adobe Software

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires flexibility in working hours, which may include some work during evenings and weekends.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.
