The City of Langley is looking for an individual with outstanding customer service and administrative skills to join our Clerical Casual Pool. Applications are invited to work within various Departments such as Engineering, Development Services and Corporate Services. Casual assignments involve varied work providing coverage for staff absences and working on special projects as the needs arise. The initial assignments will be in Engineering and Development Services, processing permit and license applications, responding to routine enquiries, providing administrative support and more. Areas of work may also include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and property tax collection should a candidate demonstrate the necessary skills and qualifications in one or more of these areas.

RATE OF PAY: Various depending on work assigned.
Clerk Typist 3 - Pay Grade 12: $26.90 to $27.95 per hour (C.U.P.E. 2019 rates)

HOURS OF WORK: Up to 35 hours per week (generally, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

Casual employees are paid 12.5% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid vacation.

Applicants must be available Monday to Friday and have flexibility for varied hours. Completion of grade 12 supplemented by business courses and several years of clerical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience is desired. Additionally, experience in local government and familiarity with municipal services and software programs such as Microsoft Office, Tempest, Unit 4 (Agresso), eDocs DM Document Management Systems and Active Net are desired. R.C.M.P Secure Reliability Clearance or the willingness to obtain one would be an asset (required for assignments in Langley Youth and Family Services).
