The Policy Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture has a challenging opportunity for a highly-motivated, organized and confident individual to provide secretarial, receptionist and clerical support in a fast paced environment.
As the successful candidate in this busy office, you will proofread documents and use word processing and spreadsheet software to create, edit and format a variety of letters, memos, briefing notes and cabinet documents under tight deadlines. You will be required to accurately enter information into a database, receive, sort and distribute incoming mail and file documents on a daily basis. You will respond to inquires made in person or by telephone from government agencies, clients and the general public. You will troubleshoot, maintain and/or arrange for repair of a variety of office equipment.
Our candidate of choice will be a strong team player, a self starter and have strong computer skills to create accurate, visually pleasing documents using a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Sharepoint. You will have effective office management practices and procedures. You will require the ability to accurately complete multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines with multiple reporting relationships. The candidate will bring good communication skills both verbally and written to respond to inquiries from the public and other government branches and ministries.
