About Our Opportunity

As the Accounting Services Officer (Clerk 4), you are responsible for providing wide range of central accounting services to government departments by ensuring the accurate processing of financial/accounting documents (e.g. SAP master data maintenance, accounts receivable, third party demands, corporate payroll remittances, etc.) as per provincial policies and procedures.

You will also apply control requirements, customer service standards and best business practices to resolve problems and provide subject matter expertise and guidance to departments and agencies of the province.

About You

You possess five (5) years related experience in a financial administration environment; or an acceptable equivalent of training and related experience. A post-secondary degree with a focus in accounting/finance or actively working towards a professional accounting designation will be considered assets.

Proficiency in Accounts Payable is essential. You will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and reconcile accounts and determine causes of variances. You will also have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Good judgement to identify sensitive and/or urgent issues that require special handling, an ability to research, compile and evaluate information in a timely manner. An ability to work in a consultative manner with internal and external clients is also required.

A working knowledge and/or training in SAP Accounts Receivable, HR/Payroll, General Ledger, Procurement and Business Warehouse would be an asset. A working knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply government policies and procedures would also be an asset.

Proficiency in the use of PC computer systems, database systems, internet-based applications, spreadsheets, and word-processing packages is essential. You must also be capable of effectively managing multiple projects in a high volume, team-oriented environment with a customer service focus. Attention to detail is very important.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Please note, this is expected to be a Full-Time, Term status position with an end date of May 7, 2023; however, the position status (“term”, “temporary” or “casual”) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: CL 22

Salary Range: $1,813.71 - $2,006.07 Bi-Weekly
