Intent of the process

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Possession of a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Journeyperson Certificate

Recent* experience working as a refrigeration technician in a commercial or industrial setting (*Recent is defined as the experience attained within the last (5) years).

Experience in the inspection of various building HVAC equipment

Experience in the maintenance and operation of HVAC equipment and systems

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Domestic Gasfitter Licence

Experience using a computerized preventive maintenance system on a regular basis such as entering maintenance action requests, correcting errors, printing reports, etc.

Experience using a direct digital control system (DDC)

Experience in making recommendations with respect to cost estimates, decisions concerning component replacement and repair, as well as acceptance of the work completed.

Experience working on Evapco Cooling Towers, Daiken Chillers, Hoshizaki Ice Machines, Engineered Air HVAC systems or various brands of high efficient furnaces.

Willing and able to work outside in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold

Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.

Candidates may be required to pay for all assessment and travel expenses.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, assessments for this process will be administered virtually. This may include both an exam and interview.

The successful applicant will have to obtain an RCMP security clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, on-line activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc.

Successful applicant is required to work in Regina, Saskatchewan. Telework or alternate work locations will not be an option.
