SUMMARY OF TASKS:

Our Mount Pearl Milk Plant has an opening for a full-time lab technician. This position is responsible for the quality control of the products by performing raw and finished product testing according to the quality program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily lab sampling; performing analysis of product (chemical & microbiological);
Ø Monitoring and enforcing on-line quality checks during production;
Ø Conducting environmental testing;
Ø Assisting in the implementation of policies and procedures relating to HACCP and GMP’s;
Ø Responsible for the cleanliness and mechanical condition of all laboratory equipment;
Ø Communicating effectively any issues with all levels of production;
Ø Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø Post-secondary education in a related discipline;
Ø One year of experience in microbiology and Quality Control
Ø Proficient in computer application (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
Ø Attention to accuracy and detail;
Ø Ability to demonstrate analytical and organizational skills.
Ø Must have the ability to work unsupervised
Ø May have to work weekends and extended hours
