The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Mail Services Branch, has an immediate opening for a Perm Full-time customer service-focused Postal Chauffeur located in Regina.
This position involves driving a mail truck on scheduled runs providing mail pick up and delivery, and sorting mail for delivery to various provincial government local offices. This position involves handling of sensitive and confidential information.
This position will be required to drive a mail van and will require the use of mirrors. This position is responsible for ensuring the mail truck is kept in good repair, which involves servicing of gasoline, water, oil and grease and making minor repairs. The successful candidate must have a good driving record including a current and valid driver’s licence as daily driving within the city is required. You must also have a thorough knowledge of the rules to safely operate a motor vehicle.
The successful candidate must be in good physical condition with strength and ability to drive a truck and to continuously handle heavy articles up to 30 kg. You will require knowledge of WHMIS and the rules and regulations surrounding the movement and handling of hazardous goods. As such, you will be required to obtain a Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate once hired.
The successful candidate will be flexible to successfully adapt to changing work environments, processes, and workloads. He or she will also be creative and a team player to co-operatively discover and implement solutions to challenges that arise. The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are typically obtained through a combination of education and/or related experience.
