Marketing, Communication, and Events Coordinator

20 - 35 hours per week (variable depending on number of events)

$20.00 per hour

Flexible hours with the option of some remote work

The University Women’s Club brings women with post secondary education together to learn, grow, share, and thrive. Our private club, situated at historic Ralph Conner House, gives its members the opportunity to connect, contribute, and engage in a female positive environment. Building on a legacy spanning more than 100 years, the UWC empowers and advances the lives of women through targeted activities and member-driven programming. We are presently seeking an innovative, independent, individual to fill the position Marketing Communication and Events Coordinator.

The Marketing Communications and Events Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining Club communications, promoting, planning and managing public-facing events and activities as well as venue bookings.

Key duties include:

1.Executing the UWC marketing communications plan and evaluate tactics on an ongoing basis

2.Maintaining the UWC website content using Wordpress

3.Overseeing production of promotional materials

4.Promote Club activities using traditional and social media including Facebook, Instagram, and MailChimp

5.Assist with recruitment of new members

6.Assist with securing sponsorship support

7.Act as a spokesperson when appropriate

8.Manage event planning and execution, including meeting with potential clients to tour the house, setting-up for and attending/managing events, and supervising casual event staff.


Degree or diploma in communications, marketing, or public relations from a recognized institution

Affinity with Club’s mandate and goals

Demonstrated experience and proficiency using social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook

Demonstrated experience with Event Planning and Management

Proficiency with content management systems and customer relationship management platforms including WordPress and MailChimp

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Exemplary written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to prioritize email work and provide self-direction

A fast learner with well-developed critical thinking skills

Part-time hours: 20 - 30 per week
