The Payroll Accounting Processing Team is looking for a career driven Financial Analyst to be part of an amazing team. In this team, not only do we process payroll related remittance, we are on a continuous journey of process improvement. We strive to improve processes to bring value and insight to our business partners with the information generated. The Financial Analyst will be working alongside the Payroll Reconciliation Team and various other departments to ensure payments and information are generated in accordance to government legislation. Being part of the Processing Team, we encourage individuals to be adaptable, a team player, a forward thinker that continuously looking for process improvement opportunities. The successful candidate must have strong analytical skills and the ability to present data in front of Senior Management and thrives in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a level of excellence through the quality of their work.


What You'll Do:
  • Prepare government remittances (source deductions, payroll taxes, WCB, etc.);
  • Prepare & review financial reports and analysis;
  • Prepare, upload and approve journal entries;
  • Active involvement with period end close activities including journal entry preparations, reconciliations & in depth analysis;
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts;
  • Liaise with payroll and benefit departments as well as outside agencies
  • Take a lead role in ensuring that department objectives and initiatives are completed;
  • Continuously monitor, recommend and implement process improvement initiatives to increases effectiveness and productivity of department;
  • Conduct presentations to leadership groups.
  • Various other duties as required.

What You'll Need:
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous applicable industry experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Enrollment in an accredited accounting program would be considered an asset.
  • Canadian payroll experience would be considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to offer constructive solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to converse comfortably with internal and external business partners.
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlines
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner.
  • Professional demeanor and attitude (business attire, internal communication, positive outlook).
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel spreadsheets, Word documents and Outlook email.
  • Bilingual in French/English would be considered an asset
