This role will work with the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) capture team to develop the aviation solution in a joint venture with Leonardo Canada, a world leader in the training sector who can cover the entire pilot training syllabus with a unique range, allowing the training syllabus to be tailored to air force requirements. This partnership between two companies leverages strong footprints in military pilot training, ensuring that the FAcT program will benefit from the expertise and innovation made by two global players, each of which have over 70 years of aircrew training experience delivered around the world.

In this role, you will:

  • Draw upon your superior understanding of the concepts and principles of aircrew training to design compelling course content and engaging learning activities for the Air Combat Systems Officer (ACSO) and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operator (AES Op) programs, and associated courses
  • Analyse the customer requirements and develop training plans that ensure stated instructional end goals are met
  • Work alongside and collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify the training needs of the target audience
  • Perform methods and media analysis to ensure that the most appropriate and effective instructional methodology is used
  • Advise on storyboarding and supporting material (i.e. audio, video, 2D, 3D, simulated scenarios, role plays, games, etc.)
  • Continuously assess areas where appropriate innovation could be employed to enhance the training solution
  • When required, attend meetings in Ottawa as part of the FAcT capture team
  • Other duties as assigned

As our ideal candidate you will have:

  • Minimum eight years’ of relevant military/civilian experience
  • Recent Qualified Flying Instructor experience as an Air Combat Systems Officer
  • A post-secondary degree in instructional design, educational technology or demonstrable experience
  • A sound understanding of the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) processes
  • Demonstrable experience writing training plans
  • Working knowledge of Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Training Information Management Systems (TIMS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligibility for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
