AMANST Inc. is looking for Intermediate Server Analyst for a contract opportunity with Alberta Government.

Description of Services

Responsible for proactively maintain and improve the server core infrastructure functionality and to work within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements.

  • perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution.
  • perform hardware and OS installations, migrations and/or upgrades.
  • plan for software and hardware upgrades and/or migrations.
  • develop and maintain documentation.
  • maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software.
  • develop system related procedures.
  • provide cross training and knowledge transfer to other server team members on relevant aspects of hardware and software support.

Mandatory Skills:

  • The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:
  • University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 2-yr User Account Administration (UAA) experience, OR
  • 2-yr diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 4-yr UAA experience, OR
  • 1-yr certificate in computer science or a related discipline and 5-yr UAA experience, OR
  • 6-yr UAA experience
  • Experience using Windows 2016 Active Directory to manage all objects for a large-scale environment (over 5000 users).
  • Experience creating local and global security groups and applying permissions to access files, folders and resources on Windows 2012 servers.
  • Experience using Microsoft Exchange 2010 Administrator and/or administering objects in 0365 to manage email accounts, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, and public folders.
  • Experience with a problem tracking software and process workflow such as, BMC Remedy AR System.
  • Experience working with New Technology File System Permissions, utilizing best practices. (Must be demonstrated at interview)
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as required.
  • Resource must reside in Alberta, due to data security issues (data cannot be stored or accessed outside of the province).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with 3rd party utilities such as Dell Security Explorer 9.6
  • Experience creating accounts using Active Roles 7.3 Console
  • Experience with scripting tools, such as Powershell
  • Experience with LDAP Query software (rADium)
  • Experience with Robocopy
  • Experience with Remote Access software (VPN, Citrix, MFA, Remote Desktop, VDI)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 2010 suite, Office 365
  • Familiarity with the GOA IT infrastructure, business direction, strategies, shared service initiatives and/or applications
  • Experience working in the Government of Alberta Domain environment or an environment of equivalent size and complexity
  • Do you have Canadian education (e.g. certificate, diploma or degree) or your foreign credentials certified by Immigration Canada, IQAS or any accreditation acceptable to the Government of Canada or Alberta? Provide information regarding certification of foreign credentials.
