Vice-President/General Manager – Scully Mine Operations (Concentrator)

Tacora Resources Inc. If you embody this culture, TACORA is currently seeking an experienced senior leader to join their high-performance team as Vice-President/General Manager - Scully Mine Operations (Concentrator). A strategic solution-oriented mindset, adaptability, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships within all levels of the organization and community are key drivers to success for this position.

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, as the Vice-President/General Manager - Scully Mine Operations (Concentrator), you are responsible for building a high-performance organization at the Scully Mine and all aspects of (i) ensuring that Scully Mine is a safe and environmentally responsible operation; (ii) overseeing the profit and loss performance of Scully Mine; (iii) ensuring that TACORA has a positive role within local communities; and (iv) ensuring that TACORA’S values and priorities are carried out and integrated as an inherent part of the organization.

Your accountabilities include all general management of the Scully Mine Concentrator and extend to Human Resources, Health, Safety, and the Environment, Government and Stakeholder Relations, and Internal/External Communications. You will act as a local liaison and TACORA representative within the local community, with stakeholders, and with Aboriginal groups.

You will ensure Scully Mine operational compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and other applicable laws, regulations, and programs. You are responsible for safe production and for ensuring that systems and process management policies and procedures are standardized, implemented, and efficiently managed to drive current and long-term success of the facility. You will lead continuous improvement and champion change management.

You are passionate in your strategic thought and execution processes to ensure that production quantity and quality are within plan and costs are managed such that increased company value is the result.

You will monitor key performance indicators on a continuous basis to improve process efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness and will enthusiastically build buy-in for these initiatives throughout the organization. This is concurrently achieved with superior health, safety, and environmental management and compliance to the company’s vision, mission, and values.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a Business Management or Engineering Degree with senior-level experience in industrial processing, materials handling, metals, and metallurgy or mining.

You are a strong and proven leader with the demonstrated ability to translate vision into actions. You passionately believe that strong relationships built on trust, mutual respect, and communication are the foundation of success. You have past relevant experience and direct involvement in transformation-type assignments and roles, deploying risk management processes, change management, step-change improvements in business performance and productivity, and have a high focus in safety.

You are a goal-oriented, innovative changemaker that encourages teamwork and collaboration while providing guidance and support to a highly engaged, accountable, performance-driven team. You bring strengths to create a work environment where employees can utilize their skills and knowledge while maintaining a team-based, inclusive approach to meet greater challenges.
