The Grenfell Art Gallery is a program-centred art museum that serves as an active educational resource for Memorial University of Newfoundland and as the public art gallery for the Western Newfoundland region and beyond. By providing relevant, accessible and educational exhibitions, programs and publications the Grenfell Art Gallery cultivates a generative engagement with art and culture. The Gallery maintains an active permanent collection of significant works by Newfoundland and Labrador, Canadian and international artists. We are propelled by the belief that art is fundamental to understanding the world and ourselves, and is an engine for innovation, public engagement and experiential learning. Grenfell Art Gallery is committed to cultivating a generative engagement with art through exhibiting, researching, collecting and nurturing innovative cultural practices. Grenfell Art Gallery is located in Western Newfoundland in the picturesque city of Corner Brook. The gallery engages in collaborative partnerships with like-minded local, regional, national and international artists, organizations and institutions.

As a space of innovation, public engagement and experiential learning it features a 2,000 sq. ft. climatecontrolled exhibition space and an active collection of contemporary and historical art, specializing in, but not limited to, the art of Newfoundland and Labrador. In addition to year-round programming, the gallery undertakes numerous outreach initiatives and offers a network of artist residencies across the province. The Gallery acknowledges with gratitude that the land on which we gather and labour is in traditional unceded Mi'kmaw territory.


Reporting to the Director of the Grenfell Art Gallery and working closely with the Printshop in a Box project team, the Senior Clerk (Printshop in a Box Project Coordinator) will be responsible for producing components, related content and contributing to the overall development and delivery of the Printshop in a Box Project; supporting the development of content-rich programming and resources in support of the project; liaising with communities, artists and stakeholders; assisting with development of communications scheduling for all programs and publications; supporting the development and touring of the culminating exhibition; and other related duties as required.


Experience (1-3 years) in general clerical work, including some experience in project management; graduation from a 1-year community college program, including or supplemented by courses in visual arts; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have training in, and a passion for, the visual arts, with print based expertise an asset; proactive project management skills; very good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, drawing on place-based communication knowledge; intermediate computer skills required for image/text processing and 3D printing, overall tech competency and experience working with 3D printer an asset; ability to work methodically with high attention to detail; ability to work independently for periods of time; experience working with the public in artsbased program and outreach setting.

SALARY $34,952 - $49,008 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
