We are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant.

We are looking for a detail-orientated, passionate, and driven individual to join our growing International Trade team. Reporting directly to the Head of International Trade, this individual will be an integral part of our growth and expansion. If you love good, healthy food and are passionate about people, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Negotiating costs, prices, discounts and credit terms with suppliers
• Entering order details into internal databases, updating inventory and ensuring that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
• Analyzing market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
• Receiving and reviewing the quality of incoming product
• Manage supplier base while proactively seeking and developing new suppliers that strategically fit the organization's requirements
• Providing strategic assistance for cross-selling and/or cross purchasing product
• Helping manage vendor and brand selection, develop strong vendor relationships, monitor industry trends,
• Assisting in developing the merchandising strategy, and assist with sales analysis

What You Bring:

• Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment including supporting projects cross-functionally with other departments
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Previous work experience in a business administration, procurement or related field is an asset
• Post-secondary education in business administration, supply chain, or related field is an asset
