The Government of Canada has helped fund this job for up to 8 weeks to a maximum of 280 hours through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
You must be aged between 15-30, be legally entitled to work in Canada, and be based in Vancouver. Work is fully remote. International students are not eligible.

Mission
To craft visuals and language that engages, educates, and/or empowers NGM's audience across platforms (web, social media, newsletter, etc.) around gender and equality while compelling them to get involved with the organization
While coordinating NGM’s marketing, you might have to...
Research audience preferences and discover current trends
Create engaging text, image, and video content
Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new products and programs
Measure web traffic and monitor SEO
Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
Facilitate online conversations with stakeholders and respond to queries
Report on online reviews and feedback from supporters & clients
Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
Suggest new ways to attract prospective supporters & clients, like promotions and competitions
Support the creation and implementation of communications strategies
Provide administrative support to programs and internal teams
Draft and edit communications copy (e.g. press releases, blog posts, newsletters, social media posts) that is reflective of agency goals, mission, and values
Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies
Update databases and media lists
Track projects and media exposure
Prepare presentations and reports
Ideal Candidate
You are:
Passionate about and proficient in the world of marketing and communications:
Expertise in multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies
Capacity, creativity, and perhaps expertise as a content creator, in written copy, social channels, or multimedia
Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
You have strong communication skills, and not just the nuts and bolts of oral and written English
Want to work with and learn from a close-knit, values-based team, while bringing expertise of your own
A generalist, who makes themself invaluable as a teammate, organizer, helper, creative mind, strategic sounding board, and all-round “person who gets stuff done”
Generally proficient with a range of different technologies and platforms, especially G-Suite. Able and eager to learn some new platforms and technologies too
Are a self-starter comfortable checking in with the team online frequently as well as work independently to meet deadlines
Working toward or completed a University/College education in marketing, business, advertising, digital marketing, communications, youth education, health promotion, gender studies, social work, international development, teaching, or other related fields. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
You might:
Have specialized skills, such as Google Ads, Analytics, SEO, multimedia content, or social media marketing.
Have creative or design-based skills, along with proficiency in platforms including Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Have expertise in web design and development, with experience and skills such as on the Squarespace platform or with HTML and other coding languages.
