MARKETING ADVISOR
School of Music
(One-Year Contractual Position)

The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a secondment, subject to departmental approval

DUTIES
Reporting to the Dean and Senior Administrative Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns to raise the profile of the School of Music. Duties include developing and executing a digital marketing strategy, taking charge of digital content creation and overseeing the quality, consistency and relevance of the School’s social media channels; establishing, coordinating and monitoring a promotions calendar that includes the Music@Memorial concert series along with other research and outreach activities; leading and/or assisting in the planning and marketing of student recruitment activities as well as major events; evaluating and continuously improving the effectiveness of the School’s marketing and recruitment activities using data and statistics to analyze any gaps between objectives and results; providing special marketing advice to the Dean; serving as a point of contact and developing and maintaining relations with internal and external target audiences; if needed, supervising student employees; leading and/or assisting with communication initiatives including researching and writing for various publications including the School’s Newsletter; and performing other related duties as required. Flexibility with regard to work hours, including occasional evening and weekend work, is required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in marketing and project management; graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in business, marketing, or public relations; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and planning skills, as well as demonstrated creativity and excellent communications abilities. Expert knowledge of, and experience in, digital marketing and social media, along with analytic tools such as Google analytics, is required. Experience in student recruitment is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have proven capacity to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously, to prioritize and to meet tight deadlines in a complex and changing environment. Creative, dynamic, versatile, resourceful, organized and diplomatic personality is desired. Familiarity with the university and arts sector environment are considered assets.

SALARY
$49,602 - $74,399 per annum (Management and Professional)
