Full Description
The Revenue and Business Systems Branch of the Ministry of Energy and Resources requires individuals with proven interpersonal and analytical skills for positions located in Regina.
As a member of a professional team of auditors, you will plan and conduct audits on producers of the province's non-renewable resources in order to ensure compliance with a variety of provincial royalty and tax legislation. Using your knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, techniques and procedures, you will verify and audit taxpayers' returns, financial statements, and other business/systems records. While performing these duties, you will document audit procedures and findings, prepare oral and written reports explaining the results of the audit, and respond verbally and in writing to taxpayer inquiries in a professional manner.
The knowledge and skills required for this job would typically be attained through the completion of a Bachelor of Administration/Commerce degree, majoring in accounting, or a Business Accountancy Diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and related audit experience. Please ensure that your degree major is clearly stated.
The successful candidates will also be required to travel in and out of province with overnight stays away from headquarters.
