The Ministry of Advanced Education is seeking an energetic, highly-organized and motivated communications professional with strong writing skills.
As the successful candidate, you will have a strong background in communications and be responsible for writing various materials for internal and external audiences, including strategic communications plans, news releases, speaking notes, social media content, web content, and articles.
In this position, you will work closely with various areas of the ministry to develop, write and implement strategic communications plan to support the ministry’s goals. You will also organize events and coordinate/respond to media inquiries, including writing key messages and briefing the appropriate spokespeople.
Experience using InDesign, Canva, SharePoint, Sitecore, Google Analytics, surveying tools, Photoshop and video editing software would be an asset.
You must be proactive, organized, flexible, and able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, manage multiple projects in a busy work environment, and work as a team and independently.
You must be able to demonstrate the values of excellence and innovation, respect and integrity, and working as one team.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through a degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or a related field of study, plus related work experience.
